One guy that owns a club there has a nice 2g with a Magnus motor. He's not in the club though last time I talked to him.
I am usually over there once a year. The highway is sick. Hit 255 headed to Campbell river. On a closed course.
Parksville beach is nice for beaches. If you have ever been to white rock and heard people call it a beach. You will laugh like I do after you go to parksville. Rocks and water. Yea,nice beach.
Little mountain is a good stop if you go to coobs. Sick view. Sick drop. Like 500ft all you see is tree tops.
Uculette/Tofino. A must.
I don't know how long your liveing there for but these are a few sites you should see that are close.

and being in Nanaimo, you must go to Katrinas, a really good, cheap Greek restaraunt.
And you have to go to the Dingy Dock pub!
you get taken over on a boat, then eat, drink whatever, and they take you back again on the boat. Pub is on a floating big dock out in the bay! Its great!

I live like 30 min away and would be up for a cruise sometime!
