My suggestion would be to Go see Jeff at colt cams in aldergrove if you want the best. He can customize you a cam for your motor with exactly what you want. Plus he's a local business, good guy too.

depends on what cam profiles he has in stock...
I don't really want to experiment on a custom profile at this time.
However a phone call won't hurt.

in stock or not is totally irrelevant.

I doubt he will have anything for our cars "in stock"  he may have a set of stage 1 or something but thats it.

He is excellent, local, and knows his shit inside and out.

you don't have to experiment or have anything wierd or oddball at all.  If you want something tried and true, ask for it.

Tell him what you need, tell him how you will be using it, tell him the rpm range, boost etc, and he will make you a set of sticks that will work as good or better than anything else.

As well, Delta do regrinds too, and haven't been doing them for as long as Geoff.  And one other thing, they just copy other cams exactly whereas Geoff develops his own.

AND, Delta is a US company whereas Colt are from Aldergrove.

Also a cam profile is just a mathematical equation, so to make a set that you know of is easy enough if you have the specs.

I always spell his name wrong.

I know he has at least three different cam profiles in his database for our cars, and he usually does his from fresh billets, not regrinds usually.

IMO I wouldn't go anywhere else, especially with his tri-flow technology he's using.

Yes he does billets, but they are more money.

And he has a really good arguement about regrinds.

How many times have you heard of Mitsubishi cams breaking or wearing out?  Of course that statement doesn't include abuse or poor assembly, but barring that, I don't think they actually do wear out.  So you are starting with the best part you can get and changing its profile.

Of course on huge cams, you will need shims, and if you go with billets, you won't need shims.

re: Colt cams
I saw some $800 prices on cams for Nisson so it scared me away..
I agree it is possible to built a big cam that idles decent.

I notice a few hardcore DSMer's are adding Mivec to their 4g63.
HKS has a kit out for the later 4g63

Kiggy added it to his 2g head...

With all those Vtec engines around it would be nice to bring the 4g63 somewhat up to date.

I could see $800 for a set of 4 cams on a V6 or V8 application.

Wonder what he would charge me to do a set for my v8... the off the shelf ones have prices with more zeros than I would care to admit in them.
They're like expensive pokemon... gotta catch 'em all.

Not considering the FP 4R cams D?

FP4R  220 duration @50 nobody has anything bad to say about them.

Looking at k272 or new GSC S2 cams both cams have out dyno the fp4r.

Too bad our motors don't have Vtec ...They don't have to compromise on cam selection.

GSC S2 Dan, or maybe S3 even for your turbo.
LOTS of good reviews of the GSC stuff.

+2 on the GSC stuff - we can bring it in for you.  S3 cams would be pretty agressive. we've used the S1's on a couple mild setups with gooood results
