Hey All,
If you, or anyone you knows, goes to www.bcdsm.org and gets a virus led redirection to another website, please kill everything and run your anti-virus. It appears that there is a trojan horse currently active, and I can't tell whether it's on the server redirect or on our hosting site (probably the former). So while I update everything, don't get yourself virused.

Yah, my Avast Antivirus caught it... I'm like what happened!? I double checked the address and retryed and no problem.Whew... Btw... Avast Home edition is free and better than anything included with TELUS or Shaw.

stopped in its tracks by SuperRyan :)
AVG got it here at work.

my AVG caught it too last night. i did the same, re try and it loaded properly. but i think it came up as a mozilla threat?
-
Hmm I think it might require more work, just got it on my iPhone
-
I use Safari on Win7.
Is that still rawdawg? I don't run a real-time scanner, but do frequent scans otherwise.
-
my internets is secure

Turns out that someone uploaded a file as an attachment to the forum, which contained a virus. Said virus then went and affected every PHP file on the SERVER, not just the forum. Long story short, no more attachments that aren't JPG or GIF's, and the forum is fixed, I think.
I have replaced all of the files that had the modified date of Aug 18, 11:35pm with current versions. Let me know if there are any more issues.
-
Chrome caught it also.

I was in my hotel room checking the forum when I saw the virus. I just chaulked it up to damn crappy hotel security. I guess it was more serious. Thank goodness Ryan was on top of things.

I don't think that apple products can get viruses ..

They can, but they are less targeted than PC's

I think Ryan's been working overtime again.
What's being uploaded that causes this? Yikes!
-
Attachments. Someone is uploading an attachment that has PHP code hidden in it, which is infecting the server.
I have disallowed attachments, cleaned the affected files, and seeing as it's a user already ON the forum, i deleted all accounts that had 0 posts, and hadn't been online in the last 6 months.
-
Wise move.
Tried to get me last night... Had none of it!
-
was kinda wondering what was going on.. my work computer finally caught it today.. glad to see it's better now :)
ryan deserves a beer or two for sure 8)

some fake "threat scanner" started last nite when I went on BCDSM. I killed it and scanned with a couple of updated quality real scanners and there was nothing, but just so you are aware, there may be something else at work here.
-
Everyone who is uploading to the site should take the responsibility to ensure the file is safe before you upload it...dsms are expensive enough.
-
It's malware btw, just so you all know
