Well, folks, I believe it's been over a year since our last meet.
Last year we met at Elk Lake, drove Prospect to Munns, stopped for a bite to eat at the Timmies on Millstream, and went for some photos near the water - I think we had six or seven cars show up.
I think we should get another one in soon.
I propose a meet for the weekend of the 28/29 of November. Please vote in the poll to indicate whether the Saturday or Sunday would be preferred.
I'd like to take a few roads en route to a bite to eat.

We can go do a few photos afterward if desired - We're not far from the water, or we could also drive to the top of Bear Mountain.
I'd like to gather input and check interest - Post if you'd like to come!

I'll try to make sure my car is still on the road at this time, it is a DSM afterall, alot can happen between now and the end of the month.
I will be installing my Fidanza 4.3 and fidanza flywheel into the laser tomorrow. So I will try and have it broken in for a good beating in the highlands.

I voted for Sunday too, i'm in Van. on Saturday for a hockey game, and unsure what time i'll be back in Victoria on Sunday. So whenever we set a time i'll know for sure, hoping i can bring out both my DSM's ha ha ha

I've got the BMW bug right now after driving a few E30's (325, M3, 325it w/ s50 swap) and I get the feeling it's not going to go away...

We will start at the Tim's on Millstream/McCallum at noon.
By the time we take a look-see at the cars, go for the drive, take a few pics, etc, it will be 1:30 or 2:00 - We'll plan on being at Jack's Place for 2:00

I drove the route today.
Finlayson Arm and Humpback roads have some rough sections, but everything else is quite smooth.
It took me an hour to go from the Tim's through the loop and back out to Veterans... I'd estimate 1 hour and 15 minutes to complete the loop and get to the top of Bear Mountain. Add in some time to meet everyone else at the start of the meet, and a couple quick stops along the way to regroup, and it should land us at Jack's Place right around 2:00, as scheduled.
I noted that a couple street signs aren't matching what my maps show, so I'll edit the route map to reflect what things should be.
I'd recommend that everyone records the directions and has them in their car for the drive... Get separated and take a wrong turn and it's easy to get lost out there.

I'll keep the start time at 12:00. There were one or more members who had commitments for the morning. The drive, as I said before, is about an hour and fifteen long so we've still got some time to play with.

Went into the shop today at work to get the big dent in the 1/4 fixed... When I left at 5:30 it hadn't been touched.
It needs some parts removal... Dent pulled and faired, rest of the 1/4 faired.
I need to prep the back bumper so I can throw it in the booth with the car.
Car needs to go through prep (probably Tues or Wed), then paint.
Needs reassembly (Thursday, hopefully), and a really big detail job plus a couple hours of polishing and a coat of wax... Thursday night, Friday night, Saturday...
Hopefully it'll all be done on that schedule.
Then it'll only run like crap, instead of looking and running poorly...
As the sign in a friends' garage says, 'We may be slow, but our work is poor'.

Just an update for myself I definitely will not be able to come as I am nearing the end of semester and i have projects due and have to start studying for finals. I don`t want a repeat of last year when you guys came out to my house and I was still in my PJs lol :-[ . It sucks but school is priority.

If it's nice out on Sunday I might ride the bike, but I won't show up in the courtesy car that I've been given...

I was gunna say I know the metchosin area really well and if we made a left on liberty , to la bonne rd which turns into barrow and connects to kangaroo, that would give us another twisty road and its a better road than kangaroo, with only 1 blind corner. this would cut off the first half of kangaroo, leaving the good side of kangaroo road, check out on the map, 3rd road on the left after getting onto rocky point road

Well, the exterior is semi clean, Engine not so much, and the interior is hard to see with all my spair parts/tools. It didn't break down on me today so that means it will most likely happen tomorrow on the cruise. :P

I have my palmpilot w/ pocketlogger on it, but you'll need to have your own cabling available and we'll see if it can work. My cabling is in the car, which is locked in the bodyshop right now.
If it's nice, I'll ride the bike. If it's not, I might grab a ride with someone else or just rock the courtesy car.
Either way, see you guys tomorrow (today).
Edit - Will have stickers with me. $5 each, with 20% going straight back to the club for upkeep.

And yeah... no pics from me. I had a camera in the backpack, but to take off the helmet, gloves pack, and then take a photo or two every time was too much effort. DSM should be back on the road early this coming week, although I still do have to do the clutch in the next month or so.
Must have a meet in the warm, dry months next time.
In the mean time, when it snows I'll be out and about spinning tires and going round in circles.

nah, fmic damage was just from remi's abuse, i looked at some pics of it :P . Ya, battery i guess was semi my fault, but the way the hood is bent just doesn't make any sense whatsoever.

The hood being bent blows my mind. I have no idea how it could possibly sustain damage from a hard bottom on the struts...

Everything drives perfectly straight, all the lines are straight, and it wasn't even like it dropped that hard into that dip, and for it to bend that bad everything would be fucked if it was the rest of the car flexing. Oh well, what happened happened. Now the decision is either to have the stock hood from Shane painted or get an OEM style CF hood. Only thing i don't like about the cf hood is having to have hood pins.

If i got hood pins I would make them least noticable as possible, they would be black thats forsure.

Untrue to the legacy, this is the first time either one of my DSMs has ever been off the road for more than a week or so for scheduled maintainance or mods. Wish I could have made it, leaving to go back to work in Alberta until late Feb or so, hopefully we'll have another meet March/April that I can make it to.

Yeah I was around that area around that time. I remember some white car behind me ;D but I don't know if they were trying to race me or not. Why you ask, someone text you saying they were behind you again? lol
As for another meet I agree... Spring time would be good so I can actually go and meet some of you guys and not have exams to worry about coming up in like a week or two.
