I had the springs installed at a shop in Abby. They showed me the shocks and they were pretty rough, and blown. I let them replace them, but they put in stockers, and charged me around $400 for them. Ouch.

Ryan, how long have the stock shocks been in there? Holding up?

So far so good! I'm the 3rd owner and I bought the car in 2001. When I got it, it had 103k on it...now it's well over 280k and they're still holding up great. I drove the shit out of it from 2001-2007, but since April of 2008 it's only been on the road for about 11 months total.

Maybe its just the 1g dsm versions that sucks.

Those cars are both significantly easier on dampeners than a dsm, being about 1000lbs lighter.

If you're referring to the rough road enjoyments, I only do that on stock suspension. The KYB's would have shattered my spine on those roads (and that car was to low to have fun with)

just so you know.

KYB made the stock shocks for mitsu/chrysler that were used on all DSM's.

so buying GR2's is pretty much buying a replacement OEM shock.  Im not sure if the OEM KYB's were gas tho, i assume they were.

They're just not. I normally agree with you but they're not comparable to OE in quality. I was able to slide over pothole'd dirt roads at 100km on 15 year old OE struts for hours without issues. If I did that on GR2's they wouldn't last 6 months.

I've had great success with GR-2's.  AGX on the other hand are too stiff and don't really last that long.

AGX's, especially on the front with the cars being so nose-heavy, don't last.

The rears are okay.
Objects in mirrors appear to be losing.
