keep in mind i'm not looking to swap manifolds(fp) or 02 housings, i'd like to keep my 38mm ext/wg off the 02 housing..

the hta68 while it is a few more lbs/min over the e3 isn't a big enough jump, i'm more looking @ the 20g-50trim level turbos..

odd as this may be i'm less concerned with spool than i probably should be, one thing that actually annoys me about the 16g (as a DD) is that i often start seeing boost when i don't intend to get on it. (drops afrs and just plain wastes fuel when i'm simply gently accelerating to hwy speed).

i have anti-lag and nlts to handle spool off the launch and re-spool for when i do get on it..

more important to me is durability, reliability and simplicity (i may be a noob but in that way it pushes me towards journal bearing over BB).. so i'm kind of leaning towards the BWs256et (kinda worried about backpressure when dsm flanged.. may cause some tuning issues) the bepH(X/Y)35 or possibly just an old fashioned 20g.

i'd be happy with 350-400 mustang whp.. all three of those turbos would put that in reach :)

The hta68 is good for 47lb/min

My gt3071 flows the same.   I love my turbo. Comes alive only when you want it to, and it doesnt take its sweet ass time. Flows enough for me, thats for sure.
337awhp.  ---> 500 awhp ? =)

I am currently also running a dual bb that runs 44lbs/min, i can't remember the exact turbo at the moment as i haven't seen my car in over a year (been away traveling).  All i can say is at low rpms if you want power right away it doesn't come until around 3500 to 4000rpm, and the time from 2000rpm to 3500 to 4000rpm seems to take forever!!  I actually want to take a step down to an HTA68 or EVOIII 16G to get some more streetable use out of the turbo, also better for AutoX racing .  Just a heads up Kevin, using No Lift To Shift and Anti Lag on the street is very uncommon, I race my car on the track and usually only use Anti Lag for launches, and never used NLTS although thats mainly when Auto Xing, and very short road courses.  Not sure if you intended to use it on the street or not, but it'd definatley benefit you at the track drag racing.

Re: durability, reliability, simplicity

Bb turbos have superior reliability/durability specifically for the violent heat and axial loads that anti-lag use presents on them. Which is why I never set it up on my last turbo.

Simplicity is a weak point as they often add water cooling and a restrictor. Pte bb don't use the h2o.

Hta86 3"v band in and out. Spool on a 2.23l is at 3800 with a good build, and on said build pushed high 6xxs with ease and 7xxs with topping it out. Both with 500+tq

That's what Im running on my 10-1 2.45L I'm hoping it it will spool at 3700 on mine.

I did. Go big the first time 350 to 400 would be fun for the first 6 weeks. 501 was fun for 3 passes at mission. Upgrading is costly. Go real big the first time. Is all :)

Kevin, the 68hta is a big upgrade over an Evo.  At least 50hp.  And easier to get there.

And, yes, anti-lag and nlts are not really useable/streetable.  Don't rely on those for a daily driver with too much turbo.

Also, you get that big turbo, and its not matched with your cams, well, you are making less power and less torque than you should be, so loose-loose at either end of the curve.

and if you don't want to change your manifold, downpipe or O2, then your choices are limited to not using the bigger HTA or other turbos.

Oh and the 68hta makes more power than the 20g, or at least flows more air than it.

Kevin, I honestly think you should change your manifold, O2 housing and down pipe.  ;D
