Balancing Shafts
« on: December 04, 2002, 07:32:22 am »
Back about 2 years ago, i pulled the balancing shafts on my friends 92 Talon N/A, and it was the largest power gain that we got, this of course was after headers, exhaust and intake.

Now... this didn't affect his N/A much it seems, it worked fine. I'm assuming that pulling the balancing shafts on my 94 Turbo FWD probably wouldn't be the best idea

when we did the swap we heard that you may feel a bit more vibration, which actually we didn't feel much at all, but i'm assuming that when it comes to a turbo model there's more to take into account?

Comments? Anybody wish to tell me how insane i am for suggesting pulling balancing shafts?

i don't always do the safest things to my (or friends) cars, but damn they work usually...... usually i said dammit

Pulling the balance shafts in a turbo equipped car shouldn't make any difference compared to an NA car.

I assume the NA car you are referring to is a 2.0L..  Basically the exact same engine in terms of reciprocating mass....
