due to it being a pain to stop, come off the highway, meet up, then try and get all the cars back on the highway, ill try and find out a way to meet up easily when we are driving through the POCO/Vancouver area.  I could possible call on my cell phone to a group leader, then the cars pull onto the highway onto a pull off area, then just merge onto the highway once the group is approaching.  will probably save some time and headaches grouping together that way.  Is there any easy pull off area in  the POCO area that can be used for such a thing?  (like a rest stop of something)

Nothing that's off the hwy on that side of the bridge there's ongoing construction and they've made changes to the exits going to Coquitlam. Depending on how many cars will be meeting up. The semi new hwy7 on ramp that's just after the bridge, that merges onto the hwy from Coquitlam could be a good spot. That way the cars can just drive right up onto the hwy.  or make a slight pitstop at ikea or something. Big enough lot and just off the hwy.

+1 for IKEA.  The covered parking area would make for some good audio recording I would think. ;D

I still may come. crossing fingers.

The following was posted on FBook and serves as additional information:

This cruise is organized by another car club. We're simply joining them. Cruise leaves 9Am from McDonald Park in Chilliwack (near exit 104).

The cruise organizer has no plans for any stops along the way except for the Chevron in Squamish. I propose a few meetup spots for us DSM members.

I will update this event as more information comes trickling in. I am now in touch with the organizer.

On the day of the cruise, it'd be great if a Chilliwack DSM co-pilot would write in the main group's location via FaceBook, then the BC DSM group could kind of stick together.

Assuming the cruise leaves precisely at 9Am, travels along Hwy 1 & traffic is light, then the Chilliwack group should pass at:

9:35Am near the Cape Horn interchange, just West of the Port Mann toll bridge. Good to know for the group meeting up at Racing Greed - #110 - 1650 Broadway St.,Port Coquitlam
9:50Am Hwy 1, Exit 17 near the Westview Shopping Centre - Westview Dr., North Vancouver
10:45 - 11:15Am Chevron, 1902 Garibaldi Way, Squamish. This is a scheduled stop.
Approx. 11:25Am to 11:45Am Whistler Village (most likely one of the big three parking lots just off Blackcomb Way). Parking is free in lots 4 & 5. https://www.whistler.ca/services/transportation/parking/day-lots

What are your thoughts on having two meetup spots for BC DSM? Racing Greed and Westview Shopping Centre in North Vancouver?
The RG group leaves to meet the Westview group at approx. 9:50Am. The Westview group could wait on the side of the on-ramp at exit 17. This on-ramp can hold 15 DSMs.
Or the RG group can pull off exit 17 and into the Westview Shopping Centre. We all leave as a bigger group.
Hopefully, we meet the Chilliwack group in Squamish, may be even while they are enroute (a long shot).

Hi Loré,

According to Google Maps, the main group would drive by Hwy#1 Exit 90 at approximately 9:10Am (if they leave precisely at 9Am).  I don't know any on-ramps that are safe enough to stop on in Abby.  However, with a 10 minute drive, I would recommend making the trek to McDonald Park (off No. 3 Road) at Exit 104).

Hope this helps!

We could meet at the rest area just past Mt Lehman exit or 264th (you can drive off and then back on), what do you think, Tony?
That is driving Westbound

yeah, that's a area  we could meet.  Ill phone you lore as we are approaching the rest stop just past mt lehma n rest stop.  That way you can just merge ahead of the group, and then just blend in and time it perfectly.  Would be nice if we could do the same thing as we are going over the port mann, and then have the rest of the group meet up in the same way.  If needed be we can stop, and break away from FVIPC and just cruise as dsm's ahaha

Brett & Loré, would either of your co-pilots phone me or update the Fbook page with the main group's whereabouts?  Or your location, if you miss the main group?  Thanks!
Someone in Lowell's group has got to have a smartphone, so they can blend in with the group's location detail too.  Aria & I will pre-stage our DSMs on Hwy #1's Exit 17 on-ramp (after we fill ourselves full of coffee at the Westview Shopping Centre.  I'll be there around 9:15Am).

We can always catch (or precede) the main group at Chevron, 1902 Garibaldi Way, Squamish between 10:45am & 11:15Am.
