HELP!!!! - H4 Conversion Kit Problem
« on: April 08, 2006, 11:53:01 am »
I bought this kit from Ebay: http://www.labattz.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=13585&highlight= (Thanks to John)

Wayne and I hoooked it up yesterday, what a PITA to get the driver's side.

When we were done though, my dummy light that indicates when the highbeams are on is on regardless of whether the highbeams or lowbeams are actually on.

Anybody know why this might be?

I've got a ruff idea of what It might be. I pulled some wiring diagrams up at work here, I'll show yeh tomorrow.

But, if anyone has any suggestions, post em up cause this is just a guess.

HELP!!!! - H4 Conversion Kit Problem

This is driving me absolutly crazy.

The reason for the above was because I had it wired wrong. I can't figure out what the right way is though. Here is what I'm getting on a multimeter.

The stupid kit I bought has three wires, they are labelled:
PASS
DRIVE
GROUND

WTF is up with that?

Testing the harness side of the wires
With mutimeter grounded to Batt I get:

LOW BEAM
RW = 0.03V
RL = 12V
R = 12V

HIGH BEAM
RW = 12V
RL = 12V
R  = 0.03V

HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE :evil:
I HATE MY CAR!!!!!

Okay nevermind I figured it out:

RW= Pass
RL = Ground
R= Drive

I guess the fact that the car uses a ground switch and the kit assumes power switch really screwed with my head.

argh - I hate doing electrical crap :roll:
