A Few Pics Of My Rebuild
« on: September 20, 2004, 08:48:28 pm »
This is a few pics of my rebuild. I didn't take as many as I wanted because... well because I didn't want to get my camera dirty or stop "the flow"
Too bad I couldn't get the classic sitting in engine bay pic but there just wasn't any room what with the block and tranny remaining in the car the whole time 8)
    * I put on a rebuilt head ($400)
    * Replaced the rod and main bearings with King Racing ones ($120)
    * Replaced the Pistons and rings with Nippon ones ($150)
    * Threw in a new all-metal rad while I was at it ($150)

Whole job, including everything, I estimate I spent about $1000

I'm now almost finnished the break-in period and apart from my nerves getting the best of me now and then as I pull over everywhere to check on things, it's gone pretty well. [/list]

#1 – Uh-oh!
#2 – Hmm?
#3 – Dirty Engine
#4 – All Bent?
#5 – Very Bent :?
#6 – Nice Dings :(
#7 – Prognosis?
#8 – New Head on, ported mani, turbo and O2, almost done now
# It’s alive! :)

Hope the pics work....Imagestation yo

Yeah I've wanted to do the black cover for a while but seeing Mike's certainly didn't change my mind. instead of polished letters I took a tip from John and filed them for that brushed look. The intake mani spent week in the parts cleaner then got sandblasted and painted silver.
