So my engine is out and on a stand. It looks like the belt died more because of oil on it than anything else but at this point the "why" is no longer important to me.
So far I have ordered $1500 worth of parts, and I expect to order another $1000 worth.

Here is my list of new stuff:

8.5:1 .020 oversize ceramic coated pistons
KING Alecular silicon main/rod bearings
272 regrind cams
Gas Nitite coated oversized valves
3G lifters
New springs/retainers
Block will be tanked, bored, honed, magnafluxed
SS clutch line
SS turbo oil line
SBR 3500 Clutch kit (w/OEM TOB)
OEM oil Pump
OEM water pump
B-Shaft Eliminator kit
SBR Kevlar T-belt
SBR LSD insert
longer clutch slave rod
new shifter bushings
Urathane filled motor mounts
Misc. replacement hardware and pullies
Phenolic Intake Spacer

Here is what I already had that will go back in:

EVO III 16G (ported)
Ported 1G exhaust manifold and O2
2.5" exhaust
RX7 550cc injectors
Walbro 255 fuel pump
Starion FMIC
2G Big Brake Kit
2G MAF w/3" intake
Apex-I SAFC

Pics of the progress will come soon.
:? I'm not doing this again next year.... If it doesn't run, it'll burn

Sounds very nice. All these guys doing build ups makes me want to take out a loan and pull my motor...sigh. Anyways, I think the lsd insert is a MUST. But then again I've never driven a 300+ hp fwd car but I can only imagine...

Well, in the end I went with and SBR 3500 clutch instead of the CFDF.

Now I'm done shopping and need to cut up my credit card

$2500 CDN in parts all at once really hurts. I hope the wife never finds out I went $1000 over budget :P

All the machining and head assembly will be an extra $500 too

I hope I don't live to regret this....time for a stiff drink  :booze:

I feel your pain, I spent a cool grand on 2 guages and some SS hose and fittings.  That says nothing for all the other shat going under the hood I picked up previously.

KING Alecular silicon bearings (sans racing, my bad) http://www.kingbearings.com/SI.htm

My 1G rods are fine, no need to replace.

All of my stuff is either from SBR or from this guy:

http://stores.ebay.com/guit-guits-Performance-parts

His name is Matt. He knows his 4G63 stuff and the parts are good.

So everything is apart and getting cleaned. Today I towed the motorless POS out of the garage to degrease and powerwash out the engine bay. Yuck...it will need doing a second time.

I used a full can of Gunk, then powerwashed, a liter of Castrol Superclean, and then Powerwashed, Some Trisodium Phosphate and water mix, and then powerwashed. I think I'll go get some Dukasol and try that too.

The block is totally stripped and ready for its trip to the Spa 8)

Other various parts are soaking in the "JC-Power parts cleaner" AKA a 5-gallon pail of laquer thinner :P
I'm getting everthing ready for a nice coat of either Ford blue or black high heat enamel, including the block and tranny  8)

Progress is slow but in the right direction.

Hmmm, where to find Windo-weld and that Dukasol? CT? Home Depot?

Got this stuff today. Now I'm just waiting on the stuff from SBR.

Been expecting the rest for a week. Got an email from them saying they have "ordered" my Kevlar belt. This will cause additional delay

8.5:1 .020 oversize ceramic coated pistons
KING Alecular silicon main/rod bearings
272 regrind cams
Gas Nitite coated oversized valves
3G lifters
SS turbo oil line
OEM oil Pump
OEM water pump
B-Shaft Eliminator kit
Spare T-belt
tentioner pully
frost plugs (apparently thrown in for free)
longer clutch slave rod (not pictured)
New shifter bushings (not pictured)

The pic is a bit blurry due to my excitment and poor camera skillz  :P

Oooooh very nice Jeremy. Glad you didn't get raped to bad on the first shipment.

Where did you get your regrinds and how much?

....And Jer, everyone knows us islanders are all on drugs, so you can just admit why you can't hold a camera still to take a picture.    hahahaha
