make sure your fuel pump and clutch are upgraded as well, and an fuel pressure regulator would be in order.

Ya I think that would be my best best so far, I'm not lookin for 500 hp by any means, 400 to crank max and I'd be thrilled

for your projected power goals.

When I started my goal was 300whp too, so just sayin, leave some room to grow....or buy twice.

I'm on my third ACT 2600.  Depending on your projected torque and where you drive, the 2100 might suffice and be more pleasant to daily drive with, especially during rush hour.

Kevin's right, a fpr is a good idea so you don't overrun the stocker.

All good tips, I actually was thinkin a 2100 for the clutch, I guess if my goal is around 300 awhp it would be sufficient...

Can't they flash the 97-99 ecu's?

98/99 black plastic cased ecu's

we've tuned a number of 98/99 ecu's with great results - we tuned matt lefrance's car using a 98 ecu. ill be running one myself soon. works like a champ in my opinion if you've got your standard bolt on's, cams, and 16-20g.  cheaper than eprom too as the shop has all the expensive cables.

we have spare 98/99 ecu's at the shop J.

ya, they have a similar core to a bosch like a few other types, so it goes straight into the rail with no mods, i did read up that they have some clearance issues so you have to plugthe injector plug in before you put the rail back on but i have heard good things about them(german engineering lol). anyways its 300 bux for the set of 850's not a bad price

Any idea how much it costs to get the 98 ecu tuned? I might also do the same instead of the safc i already have.
