STi sure can fly...
« on: September 15, 2003, 10:48:44 pm »
My brother borrowed my car Sunday night and decided to stop at the local Arby's. Who should happen to walk in but an old high school buddy of his who just happens to own a STi.

After much talking over the similarities and differences between the two cars, they decided to go from a roll, 60kph - 140kph. End result: 2 car-length win for my car. My brother was quite impressed with the STi for keeping it that close.

Gotta give props to those Subaru engineers for building a great car. Now if only I had the funds...

Anybody got the chance to drive the STi or EVO yet?

I haven't driven or driven in either of the scoobys but when SCC pitted the STi against some tuner's WRXs it kicked some a$$.  It's an impressive car for sure, the Talons look better though, but of course I'm biased
DSMs - fun when they run

Mike, go back and re-read that article, the STi was bone stock and the "Tooned" WRX has Race compound tires. No matter how poorly(get my drift here ;) ) any shop tunes a car, a good set of tires will create the largest gap in preformance.

cost for cost tho, it might be close.

get the cheaper car, do some work, or buy the more expensive car and be stuck with it.

Dont forget about warantee, if they're going to warantee a car for 300hp you better believe it'll be a reliable 300hp.
