and remember that, while the soleniod is IN the circuit, it is just PART of the circuit, so before you fling a new solenoid at it make sure all the connectors and wires etc are good as well.
also find out what conditions turn on the light if you can, because as the systems get more complicated a totally unrelated item can turn on a CEL for a seemingly unrelated circuit.
